When I received an email from Mark Johnson offering to write a guest post to share his tips on how to make a seafood cocktail, the photo of his recipe had me hooked. Let’s hear what Mark has to say . . . I think I’ve been hiding under a rock. The Food Lover’s Companion escaped my attention until it came highly recommended in a foodie magazine – I’ve been missing out! There are over 6,700 descriptions of foods and cooking techniques – all very helpful for a home cook like myself. I adore the spicy flavors of Mexican cuisine. I can’t resist a quick salsa of colorful peppers, sweet tomatoes, and tender black beans with a squeeze of lime. It’s the perfect dip for baked chips. If I’m really in need of a treat, I’ll add chunks of pepper jack cheese and creamy avocado. Heaven! I’m a big snacker. If there’s a package of anything crunchy in the pantry, by the time I’ve snitched a handful here and there, it’s gone in a flash. Nothing ever lasts more than a few days. |
