This recipe is delicious! Easy to make, and just what the title says “gooey!”

Baked Gooey Gooey Chicken

Baked Gooey Gooey Chicken

Easy pantry ingredients, and a few minutes in the oven, and you’ll have a dish your company will love. There isn’t one time I’ve made this gooey, delicious chicken recipe, that it hasn’t gotten rave reviews.

This time I used chicken legs, and chicken breasts. I started the legs first, and then added the chicken breasts 20 minutes before the legs were done. Same result. Rave reviews.

I’ve had this recipe for so many years, I can’t say who the originator was, but I sure thank them!

Happy cooking!

Serves 6

8 oz Light Russian Dressing
10 oz Low Sugar Apricot preserves
1 pkg onion soup mix
3 lbs chicken parts

Combine dressing, preserves and soup mix and place in bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Season chicken and place skin side down in pan. Bake 375 for 45 minutes until chicken is done and juices run clear.

What’s good for me in this dish?

Lean chicken breasts are a complete protein, with less saturated fat than beef. Chicken also has cancer protecting B vitamins, including Niacin and B6 for energy.

This recipe really is a hit with anyone I make it for, and so easy to put together. We are big football fans. My son was just hired as the head football coach at a local high school. I’m not proud, am I. :)

my roommate in college would cook this – we called it Sticky Chicken and served it with fries or baked potatoes to use the extra sauce :)

It’s definitely sticky. Great idea with the fries!
