Family and friends will never guess they’re eating a healthy holiday appetizer when they dig into this platter of cheese and crackers from RW Garcia. I brought this offering to a friend’s home recently, and by the time dinner was served the cheese and crackers received more than their share of compliments.
These days people seem to favor crackers packed with texture and flavor like these 3 Seed Sweet Potato Crackers. Sweet potatoes are super popular these days, along with seeds like flax and chia making this cracker combination nutty and sweet – perfect with my cranberry-packed cheese spread.
Making a healthier cheese dip to go with my crackers takes minutes. All I need is a brick of low-fat cream cheese, low-fat plain Greek yogurt, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, fresh thyme and a squeeze of lemon to cut some of the cranberry sweetness.

Holiday Cheese Dip with Cranberry, Walnuts, Lemon, and Thyme

- 8 ounces low fat cream cheese
- 1 cup low fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- ½ cup dried cranberries, chopped into small pieces
- ½ cup walnut pieces, chopped
- Combine cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and thyme in a bowl and whip with a blender until very smooth.
- Fold in cranberries and cheese and fold into a bowl. Top with lemon zest.
