Get out your bread machine! These whole grain cinnamon buns are perfect with your favorite blend of coffee!
Is it worth shaving a few calories from your favorite recipe?
Of course, it is! Our local coffee shop sells an amazing whole grain cinnamon roll. It’s baked to a crunchy golden brown on the outside, and fluffy sweet on the inside. I can’t resist them, but they weigh in at over 350 calories!
Time to shave some of those calories off, so I set out on the hunt for a recipe that came close. Fortunately, Betty Crocker had a bread machine recipe for whole wheat rolls that I could easily adapt to the sweet, cinnamon roll you see here.
Better yet, I’ve saved over 100 calories from applying themselves to my backside. Can’t beat that!

What’s good for me in this dish?
Whole wheat contains fiber, protein, niacin, vitamin B6 and several minerals. One of the biggest benefits of whole wheat over refined white flour is the boost in fiber. Most people don’t get enough fiber in their diet. Fiber is necessary to keep your digestive system functioning at its best.
